Before departure

OLSEM One is an RNP 1 departure for jets from runway 34R. Keep indicated airspeed at or below 250 kt below 10,000 ft. During parallel runway operations, do not turn left. There are man-made obstacles and trees in the departure area.

Departure sequence

  1. Climb on track 335°. The required climb gradient is 4.8% to 1,500 ft, then 3.3%.
  2. At 500 ft, turn right to intercept and follow track 023° to HALAS.
  3. At HALAS, turn right onto track 060° to intercept track 038°.
  4. Follow track 038° to OLSEM, then continue as cleared.

Sector altitudes and chart conventions

The 25 NM minimum sector altitude is 2,700 ft, centred on the YSSY aerodrome reference point. The 10 NM minimum sector altitude is 2,100 ft. Bearings are magnetic, with 13° east variation.
