This is an RNP 1 departure from runway 16R. Do not make the initial turn to the left during parallel runway operations. Maximum IAS is 250 kt below 10,000 ft; the transition limits below also apply. The initial climb gradient is 3.3%, with a higher requirement on the KADOM and STUIE transitions.

From runway 16R to GROOK

  1. Track 155°.
  2. As soon as practicable, turn right direct to DUNES. The diagram labels the departure-to-DUNES segment 8 NM.
  3. At DUNES, turn left onto 152° to DEENA, 5 NM.
  4. Continue 152° to GROOK, 6 NM.
The caution prevents an initial turn toward the parallel runway; it does not cancel the subsequent published left turn at DUNES.

Radar transition

From GROOK, continue 152° and expect vectors to the cleared route. If cleared via OLSEM, the BANDA requirements below apply.

KADOM transition

Maximum IAS is 270 kt until ANKUB, while retaining the general 250 kt limit below 10,000 ft. The required gradient to ANKUB is 5.4%.

STUIE transition

Follow the KADOM transition’s route through OLVAG, GUSPU, EGOPO and ANKUB, including the 5.4% gradient to ANKUB, crossing restrictions and 270 kt limit until ANKUB. Then:

Wollongong transition

Maximum IAS is 270 kt until ISBEX, while retaining the general 250 kt limit below 10,000 ft.

Sector altitudes and chart conventions

The 25 NM minimum sector altitude is 2,700 ft, centred on the YSSY aerodrome reference point. The 10 NM minimum sector altitude is 2,100 ft. Bearings are magnetic, with 13° east variation. Altitudes are feet above mean sea level unless a flight level is stated. These route diagrams are not to scale. Published changes: STUIE waypoint and editorial.
