Navigation setup
Use QNH. Tune IMS ILS/DME to 109.7 MHz, with a 160° inbound course and 3° glidepath. ML VOR/DME is 114.1 MHz. This Y procedure uses ML DME distances. DME or GNSS is required; GNSS may replace DME with ML VOR as the reference waypoint. The Z procedure uses IMS DME distances and different equipment requirements.Approach and descent
Enter at BELTA at or above 3,000 ft, 12 NM ML DME / 11.6 NM from the threshold. Follow 160°. The glidepath passes AVMEL at 2,230 ft, 6 NM ML DME / 5.5 NM from the threshold. Threshold elevation is 432 ft and reference datum height is 50 ft. For the localizer-only approach, retain these step-down minima:
The profile labels 8 NM ML DME as 7.5 NM from the threshold. BELTA’s printed pair differs by 0.4 NM, while the other listed pairs differ by 0.5 NM; use the published point values rather than applying one conversion to every point.
Three-degree descent checks
Every distance in this table is to ML DME.Holding and speeds
Hold at BELTA, inbound 160°, with left turns, one-minute legs, a minimum altitude of 4,000 ft and a 17 NM DME limit. The entry diagram labels 050°, 230° and 340°. Maximum indicated airspeed at BELTA is 185 kt. ATC approach-speed ranges are 160–185 kt at BELTA and 150–160 kt at 5 NM from the threshold. Aircraft may be radar-vectored to final approach, or join the procedure from a STAR before the final approach fix.Straight-in minima
These minima apply to categories A, B, C and D/Dₗ. Altitudes are feet above mean sea level. The ILS height is above the 432 ft threshold; the printed localizer height equals the altitude minus the 434 ft aerodrome elevation.
The chart prints special alternate minima of 700 ft / 2.5 km, explicitly not applicable to LOC/DME. The remaining applicability conditions are not defined on the sheet and remain to be added to this draft.
