Use this procedure when its prerequisites apply. Confirm each required aircraft state before acknowledging the corresponding checklist item.

General

Complete the preliminary, CDU, captain and first-officer procedures in the applicable ground configuration. Retain the side-specific requirements. A captain instrument or control does not satisfy an independent first-officer or standby check. Use the assigned detailed panel procedures for Set, Check, Test and Pass requirements. Observe the specified result and restore the required operating configuration after each actual cockpit test. Do not operate a system merely because its control appears in the reference list. Complete loading, performance preparation and the required equipment checks before progressing to the dependent departure procedures. Where an item requires an external inspection or crew adjustment, retain the assigned verification or explicit scenario exclusion.

1. Emergency exit light — Guard closed

Verify the emergency-exit-light guard is closed; do not treat a switch direction command as guard evidence.
Expected response: Guard closedVerification: Observe the guard and the required configuration.

2. Passenger signs — Set

Resolve the required seat-belt and no-smoking/chime selections from mission context and installed configuration.
Expected response: SetVerification: Verify the actual requested signs/switch states.

3. Windshield wiper — Park

Set the applicable windshield wiper to PARK.
Expected response: PARKVerification: Observe the wiper switch in PARK and the appropriate resulting state.

4. Window heat — On

Establish the required ON/OFF condition for the applicable window-heat switches using observed current state.
Expected response: ONVerification: Use actual switch state and the meaning of each window-heat annunciator.

5. Probe heat — Off

Apply the checklist’s literal OFF or ON requirement to all applicable probe heat systems for the configured aircraft.
Expected response: OFFVerification: Confirm the relevant switch states and both probe-system outcomes.

6. Wing anti-ice — Off

For an explicit OFF, establish OFF. For As needed, first resolve the mission’s icing decision using an approved policy; do not infer it from temperature alone.
Expected response: OFFVerification: Verify the selected switch state and the relevant valve/annunciator outcome under a the applicable decoder.

7. Engine anti-ice — Off

Apply the required anti-ice state to the applicable engines; resolve As needed before issuing a command.
Expected response: OFFVerification: Require switch-state and corresponding system/annunciator evidence.

8. Hydraulic panel — Set

Use the approved hydraulic-panel setup; do not interpret Set as a command to toggle every pump.
Expected response: SetVerification: Verify required pump positions, pressures/quantities and relevant indications.

9. Air conditioning panel — Set

Expand this panel setup with an approved detailed procedure and the mission’s air/power plan.
Expected response: SetVerification: Verify each specified selector and air-source requirement.

Continue to First officer preflight — part 3. The checklist adds no condition between these parts; the next part’s individual step conditions still apply.
