General
Complete the preliminary, CDU, captain and first-officer procedures in the applicable ground configuration. Retain the side-specific requirements. A captain instrument or control does not satisfy an independent first-officer or standby check. Use the assigned detailed panel procedures for Set, Check, Test and Pass requirements. Observe the specified result and restore the required operating configuration after each actual cockpit test. Do not operate a system merely because its control appears in the reference list. Complete loading, performance preparation and the required equipment checks before progressing to the dependent departure procedures. Where an item requires an external inspection or crew adjustment, retain the assigned verification or explicit scenario exclusion.1. Flap lever — Set
When the stated condition is satisfied, select the assigned flap detent for this phase. Verify the required lever detent and actual flap/slat configuration.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
Expected response: SetVerification: Verify the chosen lever detent and the required actual flap/slat configuration.
2. Flaps indicator — Check
Check actual flap indication as required, keeping it separate from lever position.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
Expected response: CheckVerification: Require flap-position/extension evidence and agreement with the intended lever selection.
3. Parking brake — Set
Set the parking brake using the configured brake procedure. Verify the brake is set.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
Expected response: SetVerification: Observe the requested brake state, and for ground-handler control obtain the actual handler instruction.
4. Engine start levers — Cutoff
Set both engine start levers to CUTOFF. The start levers control fuel admission; they are separate from the rotary engine start switches.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
Expected response: CUTOFFVerification: Read back the lever positions and the phase-appropriate engine outcome.
5. Stabilizer trim cutout — Normal
Verify the required NORMAL trim-cutout configuration without treating a pitch-trim ratio as switch position.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
Expected response: NORMALVerification: Require the relevant cutout-switch states.
6. VHF NAV radios — Set for departure
Tune and verify the departure navigation radios using the configured conventional NAV or MMR receiver and approved frequencies/courses.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
Expected response: Set for departureVerification: Verify the active receiver frequency and intended identification/course where available.
7. Audio control panel — Set
Apply the mission’s transmit/receive selections and volumes; do not assume a radio is audible from its frequency alone.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
Expected response: SetVerification: Verify requested audio selection and communication capability with the environment.
8. Seat — Adjust
Adjust the seat for the crew position identified by this section. Verify the required adjustment or record the authorized simulator-scenario exclusion.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
Expected response: AdjustVerification: Use an explicit simulator/crew attestation or a pre-approved scenario exclusion.
9. Rudder pedals — Adjust
Adjust the rudder pedals for the crew position identified by this section. Verify the required adjustment or record the authorized simulator-scenario exclusion.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
Expected response: AdjustVerification: Use an explicit simulator/crew attestation or a pre-approved scenario exclusion.
