Set up the approach

This is an RNP APCH procedure. Use QNH. For LNAV/VNAV, YSSY QNH and temperature are required; the procedure temperature range is 0°C to +61°C. The final approach course is 335°. Profile distances are to SSYSM, the missed approach point at the runway threshold.

Route and altitude restrictions

Speeds and holding

Maximum initial indicated airspeed is 210 kt. ATC approach speed ranges are 160–185 kt at 10 NM from touchdown and 150–160 kt at 5 NM. Holding is as directed by ATC. On the missed approach, keep indicated airspeed at or below 185 kt until SSYSH.

Descent checks

These are altitudes on the 3° path. The distance reference changes at SSYSF: read the reference column before using a distance. Threshold crossing height is 50 ft.

Straight-in minima

These minima apply to categories A, B, C and D. Published heights are retained separately from altitudes.

Missed approach

Track direct to SSYST, the missed approach turning fix 2 NM beyond SSYSM. Turn right, direct to SSYSH, then track 060°. Climb to 4,000 ft, or as directed by ATC. Keep indicated airspeed at or below 185 kt until SSYSH. SSYSH is the missed approach holding fix; no distance to it is printed on this sheet.

Circling and alternate minima

Circling is not authorized.

Frequencies

All frequencies are MHz.

Terrain and chart conventions

Use QNH. Bearings are magnetic, with 13° east variation. Altitudes and elevations are feet above mean sea level unless identified as radio-altimeter readings or heights. The map scale is 1:500,000. Aerodrome elevation is 21 ft; runway 34R threshold elevation is 13 ft. The 25 NM minimum sector altitude is 2,700 ft and the 10 NM minimum sector altitude is 2,100 ft, centred on the YSSY aerodrome reference point. The map labels obstacle and spot elevations of 160, 190, 250, 255, 259, 299, 306, 320, 385, 389, 421, 430, 545, 641, 721, 725, 862, 887 and 1,085 ft. Their geographic placement still requires a complete text description. Chart SSYGN02-187, revised 9 July 2026, from the fixed publication cycle effective 3 September 2026.
