Set up the approach

Use ISY ILS/DME, 109.9 MHz, with final approach course 062°. The ILS requires DME or GNSS; a localizer-only approach requires DME. The GURSI transition requires RNP 1. ISY DME and threshold distance are different. The threshold is at 0.2 ISY DME. GURSI is at 14.6 ISY DME / 14.4 NM to threshold, ANKUB at 9.9 / 9.7 NM, and VIDIK at 4.1 / 3.9 NM.

From GURSI to final

  1. Cross GURSI between 4,000 ft and 7,000 ft.
  2. Track 061° to ANKUB, a 4.7 NM leg. The profile gives 3,000 ft for the level segment into ANKUB; cross ANKUB at or above 3,000 ft.
  3. Follow final course 062°. The ILS glidepath is 3°, with a reference datum height of 51 ft.

ILS descent checks

These are altitudes on the chart’s 3° path, referenced to ISY DME.

Localizer-only descent

After ANKUB, observe the following minimum altitudes until reaching each distance. The 3° path values above are descent checks, not substitutes for these step-down restrictions. The localizer missed approach point is 0.7 ISY DME, or 0.5 NM before the threshold.

Straight-in minima

The chart applies these minima to categories A, B, C and D/DL. A special alternate minimum of 700 ft / 2.5 km is printed. It does not apply to the localizer/DME approach.

Missed approach

Track 062° and climb to 3,000 ft, or as directed by ATC.

Speed limits and holding

Cross GURSI at no more than 210 kt indicated airspeed and ANKUB at no more than 185 kt. The ATC approach speed ranges are 160–185 kt at ANKUB and 150–160 kt at 5 NM from touchdown. Holding is as directed by ATC; no holding pattern is specified on this chart.

Circling and alternate minima

Do not circle beyond 3 DME from SY, east of runway 16R and north of runway 25. The distance for this restriction is from SY DME, not the runway threshold or the approach’s distance reference.

Frequencies

All radio frequencies are MHz.

Terrain and chart conventions

Use QNH. Altitudes and elevations are feet above mean sea level; tracks are magnetic. The chart shows 13° east magnetic variation and a 1:500,000 map scale. Aerodrome elevation is 21 ft and runway 07 threshold elevation is 16 ft. The 25 NM minimum sector altitude is 2,700 ft and the 10 NM minimum sector altitude is 2,100 ft, both centred on the YSSY aerodrome reference point. Nearby aerodrome labels on the map are YSBK, YFIW and YSHW. The map’s labelled obstacle and spot elevations are 160, 190, 250, 255, 259, 273, 299, 306, 320, 385, 389, 421, 430, 545, 641, 677, 725, 820, 870, 887, 894, 1,001, 1,074 and 1,085 ft. Their geographic placement still requires a complete text description. Chart SSYII07-187, revised 9 July 2026, from the fixed publication cycle effective 3 September 2026.
