These runway restrictions apply to aircraft permitted to operate during the curfew and its surrounding restricted periods, unless an exemption or dispensation applies. All times are local.

Landing runways

Takeoff runways

An aircraft that receives taxi clearance before 23:00 may depart from 16R after the curfew starts. It may use the full runway length and need not reposition south of taxiway G. The source states both the permission to depart and the full-length exception.

Exempt flights

The restrictions do not apply when:
  • the aircraft is used for, or in connection with, search and rescue, a medical emergency or a natural disaster;
  • the pilot has declared an in-flight emergency;
  • the aircraft has insufficient fuel to divert to another airport; or
  • landing or takeoff is urgently needed to ensure the safety or security of the aircraft or any person, or to avoid property damage.

Dispensations

The source requires approval from the Minister for Transport or a delegate for a dispensation in exceptional circumstances, having regard to the approval guidelines. It gives the following application contact at the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts: These are the contact details printed in the chart snapshot. An application is not itself an approval. For the simulator, any required dispensation must be established in the scenario’s operating context.
