Use this procedure when its prerequisites apply. Confirm each required aircraft state before acknowledging the corresponding checklist item.

General

Verify the departure runway before entry. Obtain runway-entry and takeoff authority at their respective points. Apply each lighting, transponder and thrust requirement only at its stated condition. Approximately 40% N1 is an engine-speed requirement, not a thrust-lever-position requirement. After engine stabilization, use TO/GA. At VR, rotate toward 15° pitch. Gear retraction requires the positive-climb condition. Above 400 ft, select or verify the roll mode and retract flaps as scheduled. Use the assigned altitude datum and retraction schedule. Do not equate this listed trigger with an unspecified acceleration height or a fixed flap-retraction speed. After actual flap/slat retraction, complete the remaining selections. Maintain the assigned continuous takeoff and climb control. Rejected-takeoff and failure responses require their applicable procedures; they are not established by the availability of TO/GA or autobrake controls.

1. After flaps and slats retracted: VNAV mode — Set

Condition: After flaps and slats retracted. After flap and slat retraction is verified, select or establish VNAV. Verify the active flight-mode indication.
When: After flaps and slats retracted.Expected response: SETVerification: Require active VNAV appropriate to this phase and configuration.

2. After flaps and slats retracted: Autopilot — As needed

Condition: After flaps and slats retracted. Resolve whether autopilot use is required; engage only the appropriate approved channel after its prerequisites and the source trigger are satisfied.
When: After flaps and slats retracted.Expected response: As neededVerification: Require actual channel/mode engagement and continuing valid flight indications.

3. After flaps and slats retracted: Engine start switches — As needed

Condition: After flaps and slats retracted. Select the engine start-switch positions required for this phase and installed configuration. Verify the selected positions. These switches are separate from the fuel/start levers.
When: After flaps and slats retracted.Expected response: As neededVerification: Require both applicable rotary-switch states.

4. After flaps and slats retracted: Autobrake — Off

Condition: After flaps and slats retracted. Select autobrake OFF. Verify the selector and required indications.
When: After flaps and slats retracted.Expected response: OFFVerification: Confirm the selected mode and required arming/disarm state.

5. After flaps and slats retracted: Landing gear lever — Off

Condition: After flaps and slats retracted. When the stated condition is satisfied, select the landing gear lever OFF. Verify the required lever position and gear indications.
When: After flaps and slats retracted.Expected response: OFFVerification: For DOWN, verify the required safe indications; for UP/OFF, require actual lever and gear-state evidence appropriate to that command.
