General
Verify the departure runway before entry. Obtain runway-entry and takeoff authority at their respective points. Apply each lighting, transponder and thrust requirement only at its stated condition. Approximately 40% N1 is an engine-speed requirement, not a thrust-lever-position requirement. After engine stabilization, use TO/GA. At VR, rotate toward 15° pitch. Gear retraction requires the positive-climb condition. Above 400 ft, select or verify the roll mode and retract flaps as scheduled. Use the assigned altitude datum and retraction schedule. Do not equate this listed trigger with an unspecified acceleration height or a fixed flap-retraction speed. After actual flap/slat retraction, complete the remaining selections. Maintain the assigned continuous takeoff and climb control. Rejected-takeoff and failure responses require their applicable procedures; they are not established by the availability of TO/GA or autobrake controls.1. Before entering the runway: Departure runway correct — Verify
Condition: Before entering the runway. Before entering the runway, compare actual airport/runway location with the cleared and planned departure runway.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
When: Before entering the runway.Expected response: VerifyVerification: Require aircraft position/runway identity and the current runway-entry clearance.
2. Entering the runway: Strobe light — On
Condition: Entering the runway. At the runway-entry event, select the required strobe configuration and verify it.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
When: Entering the runway.Expected response: ONVerification: Require actual strobe state and any combined navigation-light state for the selected switch.
3. Entering the runway: Other lights — As needed
Condition: Entering the runway. Apply the approved lighting-panel setup without inventing which lights Set includes.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
When: Entering the runway.Expected response: As neededVerification: Verify the requested lights, using the configured landing-light variant.
4. Entering the runway: Transponder — Ta/ra
Condition: Entering the runway. Set code and mode from the mission/clearance, then verify both. Code and mode are separate requirements.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
When: Entering the runway.Expected response: TA/RAVerification: Read back the actual code and mode; for explicit TA/RA or STBY select that named mode.
5. After clear for takeoff: Fixed landing lights — On
Condition: After clear for takeoff. When the stated condition is satisfied, select the applicable landing lights ON. Verify the installed lights required by this item.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
When: After clear for takeoff.Expected response: ONVerification: Confirm the intended fixed lights, not merely an aggregate or partially populated indication.
6. After clear for takeoff: Thrust levers — Approx. 40% N1
Condition: After clear for takeoff. After takeoff clearance, advance the thrust levers to obtain approximately 40% N1. Monitor N1, not thrust-lever percentage. Complete engine stabilization before TO/GA.Checks and evidence
Checks and evidence
When: After clear for takeoff.Expected response: Approx. 40% N1Verification: Both engines’ N1 should meet the approved interpretation of “Approx. 40%” and subsequent stabilization criterion.
