# Harnesses and models

> Supported model combinations and platform-managed harness configuration.

For your first flight, keep Codex and Default for this harness. A harness is the software that runs the agent; the model supplies its reasoning. The platform handles installation and tool connections. Change these selections later to compare how the same skills perform.
