# read_reading

> Read one cockpit value by reading id, fresh from the simulator.

Read one cockpit value by reading id, fresh from the simulator. On/off readings return a boolean. Numeric readings also return trend (change per second over the window, in the reading's unit), ago (the value window seconds ago) and window (5 s); they are null until enough history has been collected.
