# Sydney independent visual approach reporting examples

> Sydney independent visual approach reporting examples.

These examples explain the visual report needed for the [independent visual approach procedure](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/sydney/charts/independent-visual-approaches.md). A report of **visual conditions** and a report of **the runway in sight** are different requirements in the source diagrams.

## Both aircraft established on final

When both aircraft are already on their respective **localizer or GLS final approach course**, each only needs to report **visual**. The first diagram shows both aircraft aligned with the separate parallel runways.

## One aircraft established, one intercepting

The aircraft already on its **localizer or GLS final approach course** only needs to report **visual**. The aircraft still on the intercept must have reported **the runway in sight**. The intercept angle shown is **30° or less**.

## Both aircraft intercepting

Both aircraft must report **the runway in sight**. Each intercept angle is **30° or less**. They turn toward their own runway centrelines without crossing through into the adjacent approach.

These reports support an IVA clearance; making the report is not itself the clearance. Follow the director-frequency and centreline requirements on the main procedure page.

Chart **SSYUG02-161**, with no revision date printed on the sheet, from the fixed publication cycle effective **3 September 2026**.
