# Sydney ground movement and A380 restrictions

> Sydney ground movement and A380 restrictions.

Use this movement chart with the [aerodrome layout](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/sydney/charts/aerodrome-layout.md) and the assigned taxi clearance. The international terminal is west of runway 16R/34L; the domestic area is east. The diagram uses grey shading for the A380 taxi routes. The physical runway dimensions are **3,962 × 45 m** for 16R/34L, **2,530 × 45 m** for 07/25 and **2,438 × 45 m** for 16L/34R.

## A380 operating restrictions

* **Runways 07/25 and 16R/34L are available** for A380 operations.
* **Runway 16L/34R is not available** for A380 operations.
* **Taxiway H is not available while runway 07/25 is in use.**
* During **low-visibility operations**, taxiway-intersection departures are not available; **taxiway H is available when operating parallel runways**; and **crossing runway 16R/34L under tow is not permitted**.

The chart’s H exception is specific to its stated conditions. The [airport SOP snapshot](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/sydney/procedures/manoeuvring-area.md#taxiway-restrictions) contains a broader code-F restriction on H. Preserve the distinction between these snapshots when checking the assigned operation; the unconditional SOP wording does not describe the exception printed on this chart.

## Ground layout

The chart labels the A/A1–A6 system west of the main runway, B/B1–B10 on its east side, C/C1/C2 toward the domestic terminal, and F/G/H/J/K near the cross-runway connections. D and E serve the eastern end of runway 07/25. The L connection leads toward S and the T/T1–T6 system beside runway 16L/34R. These labels orient the taxi clearance; the diagram’s A380 route shading is retained below.

## Runway-incursion hot spots

Two enlarged details remain on this chart:

* **Runway 07/25–16R/34L intersection**, including nearby G, H, A, B and J connections.
* **A4–B10–L crossing area** on runway 16R/34L.

The revision removed hot spots at the **16R, 34L and 34R thresholds**. It did not remove the two highlighted crossing areas above.

## Frequencies

All frequencies below are MHz. Select the surface-movement and tower frequency for the relevant part of the airport.

| Service | Frequency |
| - | -: |
| ATIS | 118.55 |
| Airways clearance delivery | 133.8 |
| Coordination | 127.6 |
| Surface movement east of runway 16R/34L | 121.7 |
| Surface movement west of runway 16R/34L | 126.5 |
| Tower: runway 16R/34L and runway 07/25 | 120.5 |
| Tower: runway 16L/34R | 124.7 |

## Map conventions

Bearings are magnetic, with **13° east** variation. Elevations are feet above mean sea level. Scale is **1:40,000**, with a metre scale bar.

Aircraft-type manoeuvring restrictions apply in addition to these A380 notes. Confirm the restrictions for the assigned aircraft before selecting a taxi route.

Published change: runway-incursion hot spots removed at thresholds 16R, 34L and 34R.
