# Sydney flight corridor E

> Sydney flight corridor E.

Flight corridor **E** applies to the **runway 16L departure after takeoff under IFR**. Follow the [corridor-use rules](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/sydney/charts/corridor-use-and-international-slots.md#flight-corridor-use): jets remain in the appropriate corridor, and the rule applies to all aircraft during curfew hours, except for ATC-approved or instructed safety deviations.

## Boundary coordinates

Coordinates are degrees, minutes and seconds. Follow the numbered boundary in order and return to point 1; these are boundary vertices, not route waypoints.

| Point | Latitude | Longitude |
| -: | - | - |
| 1 | 33°58′20.6″ S | 151°11′39.5″ E |
| 2 | 33°59′29.3″ S | 151°15′00.0″ E |
| 3 | 34°00′37.6″ S | 151°16′34.6″ E |
| 4 | 34°03′19.1″ S | 151°12′47.5″ E |
| 5 | 34°00′37.8″ S | 151°11′20.2″ E |
| 6 | 33°58′22.7″ S | 151°11′28.1″ E |

## Boundary geometry

Join 1→2 and 2→3 using the listed coordinates, then 3→4 southwest, by geodesic segments. From 4→5, follow the **northwesterly arc of a circle of radius 6.3 NM**, centred at **33°59′27″ S, 151°18′46.8″ E**. Then join 5→6 north and 6→1 northeast by geodesic segments. The curved 4→5 boundary must not be replaced with a straight line.

The source prose calls the **2→3** segment “southwesterly,” but its coordinates and source chart place point 3 **southeast** of point 2. The coordinates above retain the published boundary; this directional discrepancy is not silently corrected into a different polygon.

## Map orientation

The chart shows **13° east** magnetic variation and a **1:160,000** scale with a **0–2 NM** bar. It locates the corridor relative to the airport, Botany Bay, Kurnell and Cronulla, with Sydney CBD, Mascot, Maroubra, Rockdale, Marrickville, Ashfield and Leichhardt as surrounding landmarks. The credited map retains the coastline and built-up-area shading; the complete boundary definition is in the table and geometry above.

Chart **SSYNA09-161**, revised **7 November 2019**, from the fixed publication cycle effective **3 September 2026**.
