# BOREE Five Papa arrival to runway 16R

> BOREE Five Papa arrival to runway 16R.

## Before arrival

BOREE Five Papa is an **RNP 1 arrival to runway 16R**. Cross **BOREE at or above 9,000 ft**. During precision runway monitoring operations, **dual VHF communications are required**; the [PRM instructions](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/sydney/charts/precision-runway-monitoring.md) are included in this documentation.

## Route to the final approach

Distances are for each leg. The segment minimum altitude column reproduces the chart’s route altitude labels; waypoint crossing restrictions are listed separately.

| From | Instruction | To | Distance | Segment minimum altitude | Crossing restriction |
| - | - | - | - | - | - |
| BOREE | Track 158° | VASRA | 8 NM | 2,500 ft | At or above 8,000 ft |
| VASRA | Turn right, track 167° | DALAR | 10 NM | 2,300 ft | Between 4,000 ft and 5,000 ft |
| DALAR | Turn left, track 155° | DUMOP | 7 NM | 2,200 ft | At 3,000 ft |
| DUMOP | Track 155° along the final approach course | URDEN | 6 NM | 2,100 ft | Maximum 185 kt indicated airspeed from URDEN |

From URDEN, follow the cleared **GLS or ILS approach to runway 16R**.

## Approach speeds

Keep indicated airspeed at or below **250 kt below 10,000 ft**. The maximum is **185 kt from URDEN**. The chart lists these ATC approach speed ranges:

| Position | Indicated airspeed |
| - | - |
| URDEN | 160–185 kt |
| 5 NM from touchdown | 150–160 kt |

## Radio failure in instrument conditions

If able, contact Sydney approach on **+61 2 9556 6515**. Set transponder code **7600**. Comply with the vertical-navigation requirements, but **do not descend below the minimum sector altitude**. Follow the latest arrival clearance to the nominated runway, then fly the most suitable approach.

## Frequencies

All radio frequencies are MHz.

| Service | Frequency |
| - | - |
| ATIS | 118.55 |
| Approach | 124.4 |
| Director | 126.1 |
| Tower | 120.5 |
| Surface movement east of runway 16R/34L | 121.7 |
| Surface movement west of runway 16R/34L | 126.5 |

## Sector altitudes and chart conventions

The **25 NM minimum sector altitude is 2,700 ft**, centred on the **YSSY aerodrome reference point**. The **10 NM minimum sector altitude is 2,100 ft**. Bearings are magnetic, with **13° east** variation. Altitudes are feet above mean sea level unless a flight level is stated. These route diagrams are **not to scale**.
