# BOOIN One Victor visual arrival to runway 34

> BOOIN One Victor visual arrival to runway 34.

This **RNP 1** arrival uses magnetic tracks and distances in nautical miles (NM). Altitudes are feet above mean sea level. Maximum indicated airspeed (IAS) is **250 kt below 10,000 ft**, with the additional runway-specific speeds below.

The route tables keep **segment minimum altitudes** separate from **waypoint crossing restrictions**. Distances are for each leg.

This arrival has a **visual continuation from SHEED**. The chart does not specify daylight or weather minima for that continuation; those applicability rules remain to be added to this draft.

## Instrument route to SHEED

Fly **230 kt IAS from IGPON**, then **no more than 185 kt from EGEKA**. From **SHEED**, the source requires **at least 150 kt IAS**. Its ATC approach-speed ranges are **160–185 kt at EGEKA** and **150–160 kt at SHEED**.

| From | Track | To | Distance | Segment minimum altitude | Crossing restriction |
| - | - | - | - | - | - |
| BOOIN | 225° | ATPER | 11 NM | 4,900 ft | ATPER at or above 9,000 ft |
| ATPER | 225° | MAITE | 11 NM | 4,900 ft | MAITE between 5,000 and 9,000 ft |
| MAITE | 225° | IGPON | 3 NM | 2,500 ft | — |
| IGPON | 225° | MOSVO | 6 NM | 2,500 ft | MOSVO between 4,000 and 6,000 ft |
| MOSVO | 256° | EGEKA | 4 NM | 2,500 ft | — |
| EGEKA | 256° | SHEED | 5 NM | 2,500 ft | SHEED at or above 2,500 ft |

Turn **right at MOSVO** onto 256°.

## Visual continuation

From SHEED, track **257° visually for 3 NM to ASUKI**. At ASUKI, turn **right for a visual intercept of runway 34 final**. The diagram labels the final visual connection **3 NM**; it does not provide an instrument track or altitude profile for that connection.

**Identify Melbourne runway 34 by its runway threshold identification lights. Essendon Airport is 5 NM south-east of ML.**

## Radio failure in instrument conditions

Set transponder code **7600**. Comply with the vertical-navigation requirements, but **do not descend below the minimum sector altitude**. Follow the latest arrival clearance to the nominated runway, then fly the most suitable approach.

## Frequencies

All frequencies are MHz.

| Service | Frequency |
| - | - |
| ATIS | 114.1 or 118.0 |
| Approach | 132.0 |
| Tower | 120.5 |
| Surface movement | 121.7 |

## Sector altitudes and chart conventions

The **10 NM minimum sector altitude (MSA) is 3,300 ft**. The **25 NM MSA**, centred on the **YMML aerodrome reference point**, is **4,500 ft in the northern sector** and **3,700 ft in the southern sector**. The boundaries are labelled **B-080° on the west side** and **B-260° on the east side**; these are bearing labels, not VOR radials.

The diagram uses **12° east magnetic variation** and is **not to scale**. **YMEN** identifies nearby Essendon Airport.

Chart **MMLSR08-184**, revised **4 September 2025**, from the fixed publication cycle effective **3 September 2026**.
