# Canberra RNP X runway 35 (AR)

> Canberra RNP X runway 35 (AR).

This is an **authorization-required RNP approach for CASA-approved operators only**. Use **Canberra QNH** and **Canberra temperature**. The permitted procedure temperature range is **−10°C to +45°C**. **Radius-to-fix (RF) capability is required** for the curved legs.

Aerodrome elevation is **1,887 ft**; runway 35 threshold elevation is **1,869 ft**. The final descent path is **3°**, with **50 ft** threshold crossing height.

## Join from KALKA

Cross **KALKA at or above 6,000 ft**. **RNP 0.3 is required from KALKA.** Total procedure distance from KALKA to RW35 is **13.2 NM**. This sheet does not print a separate maximum-IAS box for the initial segment.

| Leg | Geometry | Distance | Distance remaining to RW35 at the end |
| - | - | -: | -: |
| KALKA → CB421 | Track 001° | 3.5 NM | 9.7 NM |
| CB421 → CB422 | Track 001° | 3.1 NM | 6.6 NM |
| CB422 → CB444 | Left arc, 5.7 NM radius | 1.6 NM | 5 NM |

The profile shows a **5,000 ft** limit between KALKA and **CB421**, the intermediate fix. The 3° path begins at **5,000 ft at CB421**, passes **4,000 ft at CB422**, then reaches **3,500 ft at CB444**.

## Path-altitude checks

Distances in the first column are along the procedure, not direct distance to the runway. These are 3° path checks; retain the separate initial restrictions and selected minima.

| Position | Path altitude, ft |
| - | -: |
| CB421 | 5,000 |
| CB422 | 4,000 |
| CB444 | 3,500 |
| CB445 | 3,140 |
| CB446 | 2,820 |
| 1.9 NM before RW35 | 2,530 |
| 1.2 NM before RW35 | 2,290 |
| 0.9 NM before RW35 | 2,200 |

The source table prints **1.9 NM / 2,530 ft**. Its ordinary RNP 0.3 minimum is separately printed as **2,450 ft**; the values are preserved as different references.

## Curved final and missed approach

At **CB444**, the final approach fix, the path is **3,500 ft** and **5 NM** remain to RW35. Continue through the following fixed-radius legs:

| Leg | Geometry | Distance | Distance remaining to RW35 at the end |
| - | - | -: | -: |
| CB444 → CB445 | Right arc, 2.7 NM radius | 1.2 NM | 3.8 NM |
| CB445 → CB446 | Left arc, 2.7 NM radius | 1 NM | 2.8 NM |
| CB446 → RW35 | Track 348° | 2.8 NM | 0 NM |

**RW35 is the missed-approach point.** For the missed approach, track **350° to TALAG**, **12 NM**, and **climb to 5,100 ft**. TALAG is labelled the missed-approach holding fix.

## Minima and climb gradients

Altitudes are feet above mean sea level. Heights and visibility reproduce the chart’s parenthesized values. The lower minima require the stated higher missed-approach climb gradient; do not select a row from RNP capability alone.

| RNP | Categories | Minimum altitude, ft | Height, ft | Visibility, km | Missed-approach gradient |
| - | - | -: | -: | -: | - |
| 0.3 | A–D | 2,450 | 581 | 2.4 | 2.5% |
| 0.3 | A–D | 2,290 | 421 | 1.5 | 3.4% to 3,100 ft, then 2.5% |
| 0.11 | A–D | 2,200 | 331 | 0.9 | 3.8% to 3,100 ft, then 2.5% |

**Circling is not authorized.** The alternate row gives height–visibility pairs: **A/B 1,863 ft–4.4 km**, **C 2,093 ft–6.0 km**, **D 2,233 ft–7.0 km**.

## Sector altitudes and chart conventions

The **10 NM MSA is 5,100 ft**. The 25 NM diagram is referenced to the **YSCB aerodrome reference point**: the northern/eastern sector bounded by chart bearings **B-125° and B-250°** is **4,600 ft**, the southern sector between **B-250° and B-075°** is **7,500 ft**, and the western sector between **B-075° and B-125°** is **5,900 ft**. These are the bearing labels on the ARP diagram, not CB VOR radial labels.

Tracks are magnetic, elevations are feet AMSL, and distances in parentheses are NM. The map shows **12° east** magnetic variation, a **1:400,000** scale and a **0–5 NM** scale bar.

R450A, R450B and R450C are marked west of the airport, without vertical limits on this sheet. The [RNP Z runway 35 reference](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/canberra/charts/rnp-z-runway-35.md#restricted-areas-shown) includes those limits from its chart. The source colour note points to specification notices; the approach requirements, restrictions and minima are supplied in text here, while shading and plotted obstacle locations still require text coverage.

## Terrain labels

The map labels spot elevations of **2,565; 2,839; 2,944; 2,880; 3,311; 2,241; 2,289; 2,425; 2,810; 2,506; 3,020; 2,226; 2,667; 2,604; 2,641; 3,245; 3,543; 3,671; and 3,344 ft**. Their geographic positions and obstacle symbols have not yet been fully transcribed into this text.
