# Canberra MANDA Three Alpha and X-ray arrivals

> Canberra MANDA Three Alpha and X-ray arrivals.

This arrival requires **RNP 1** capability. Maximum indicated airspeed is **250 kt below 10,000 ft**, with any lower limits specified for the selected branch. Tracks are magnetic; distances are nautical miles. All altitudes are feet above mean sea level unless a flight level is stated.

The table separates the small altitude labels printed along each leg from the mandatory waypoint crossing restrictions.

Both branches serve **runway 17**. Join at MANDA using the assigned transition, then follow Alpha or X-ray as cleared.

## Transitions to MANDA

Wagga Wagga navigation aids use identifier **WG**: VOR/DME **115.0 MHz** and NDB **221 kHz**.

| Leg | Track | Distance, NM | Leg altitude label, ft | Crossing or speed restriction |
| - | -: | -: | -: | - |
| WG VOR or NDB → MANDA | 086° | 55 | 7,700 | MANDA at or above 9,000 ft |
| KACEY → MANDA | 072° | 84 | 7,700 | MANDA at or above 9,000 ft |
| ARRAN → NONUP | 041° | 40 | 7,700 | No additional crossing restriction printed |
| NONUP → MANDA | 047° | 16 | 7,700 | MANDA at or above 9,000 ft |

For the ARRAN transition, **turn right at NONUP** onto 047°. The diagram also labels 041° beside NONUP; the onward route to MANDA is 047°.

## Common route after MANDA

| Leg | Track | Distance, NM | Leg altitude label, ft | Crossing or speed restriction |
| - | -: | -: | -: | - |
| MANDA → IGMET | 047° | 13 | 5,500 | IGMET at or above 7,000 ft |
| IGMET → MEKON | 047° | 8 | 5,100 | MEKON at or above 6,000 ft |

## Runway 17 Alpha

| Leg | Track | Distance, NM | Leg altitude label, ft | Crossing or speed restriction |
| - | -: | -: | -: | - |
| MEKON → BARTN | 047° | 7 | 3,800 | No additional crossing restriction printed |
| BARTN → GOONY | 080° | 7 | 3,800 | No additional crossing restriction printed |
| GOONY → TALAG | 170° | 3 | 3,700 | TALAG at or above 5,000 ft |

Turn **right at BARTN** onto 080°, then **right at GOONY** onto 170°. From TALAG, continue on [RNP W runway 17 (AR)](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/canberra/charts/rnp-w-runway-17-ar.md) or [VOR runway 17](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/canberra/charts/vor-runway-17.md).

## Runway 17 X-ray

At MEKON, **turn right onto 072°** for VADMA: **5.3 NM**, with a **3,900 ft** leg-altitude label. Cross **VADMA at or above 6,000 ft**, then continue on [RNP X runway 17 (AR)](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/canberra/charts/rnp-x-runway-17-ar.md). AR denotes an authorization-required approach. The curved line beyond VADMA indicates the approach connection, not an additional STAR leg.

## Radio failure in instrument conditions

Set **7600**. Follow the vertical-navigation requirements without descending below minimum sector altitude. Follow the latest STAR clearance to the nominated runway, then use the most suitable approach.

## Frequencies

| Service | Frequency |
| - | - |
| ATIS | 116.7 MHz, 127.45 MHz, 263 kHz (NDB) |
| AWIS, after hours | 116.7 MHz |
| Surface movement / airways clearance | 121.7 MHz |
| Tower | 118.7 MHz |
| Approach | 124.5 MHz |
| Flight information, after hours | ML CEN 125.9 MHz |
| CTAF + AFRU, after hours | 118.7 MHz |
| AFRU + PAL, after hours | 118.7 MHz |

## Sector altitudes and chart conventions

The **10 NM MSA is 5,100 ft**. The 25 NM diagram is referenced to the **YSCB aerodrome reference point**: the northern/eastern sector bounded by chart bearings **B-125° and B-250°** is **4,600 ft**, the southern sector between **B-250° and B-075°** is **7,500 ft**, and the western sector between **B-075° and B-125°** is **5,900 ft**. These are the bearing labels on the ARP diagram, not CB VOR radial labels.

Tracks are magnetic, elevations are feet AMSL, and distances in parentheses are NM. The diagram shows **12° E** magnetic variation and is **not to scale**.

Published change: revised procedure.

Chart **SCBSR06-176**, revised **7 September 2023**, from the fixed publication cycle effective **3 September 2026**.
