# Canberra AVBEG Six Alpha arrival

> Canberra AVBEG Six Alpha arrival.

This arrival requires **RNP 1** capability. Maximum indicated airspeed is **250 kt below 10,000 ft**, with any lower limits specified for the selected branch. Tracks are magnetic; distances are nautical miles. All altitudes are feet above mean sea level unless a flight level is stated.

The table separates the small altitude labels printed along each leg from the mandatory waypoint crossing restrictions.

## Runway 17

Cross **AVBEG at or above 9,000 ft**. This AVBEG restriction is explicitly marked for runway 17.

| Leg | Track | Distance, NM | Leg altitude label, ft | Crossing or speed restriction |
| - | -: | -: | -: | - |
| AVBEG → OMDAL | 138° | 9 | 4,100 | OMDAL at or above 7,000 ft |
| OMDAL → DOGRO | 138° | 4 | 4,000 | DOGRO at or above 6,000 ft |
| DOGRO → GOONY | 138° | 3 | 4,000 | No additional crossing restriction printed |
| GOONY → TALAG | 170° | 3 | 3,600 | TALAG at or above 5,000 ft |

Turn **right at GOONY** onto 170°. From TALAG, follow [RNP W runway 17 (AR)](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/canberra/charts/rnp-w-runway-17-ar.md) or [VOR runway 17](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/canberra/charts/vor-runway-17.md). AR denotes an authorization-required approach.

## Runway 35

| Leg | Track | Distance, NM | Leg altitude label, ft | Crossing or speed restriction |
| - | -: | -: | -: | - |
| AVBEG → LANYO | 169° | 41 | 4,700 | LANYO at or above 8,000 ft |
| LANYO → HONEY | 147° | 6 | 5,800 | HONEY at or above 7,000 ft |
| HONEY → DALEY | 056° | 6 | 5,100 | Maximum 210 kt from DALEY |
| DALEY → MENZI | 010° | 2 | 5,100 | MENZI at or above 5,400 ft |

Turn **left at LANYO**, **left at HONEY** and **left at DALEY**, following the tracks above. From MENZI, continue on the assigned **ILS, RNP Z, LOC or VOR runway 35** approach.

The runway 35 approach references are [ILS-Y / LOC-Y](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/canberra/charts/ils-y-or-loc-y-runway-35.md), [ILS-Z / LOC-Z](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/canberra/charts/ils-z-or-loc-z-runway-35-part-1.md), [RNP Z](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/canberra/charts/rnp-z-runway-35.md) and [VOR](https://www.narev.ai/docs/irl-gym/airports/canberra/charts/vor-runway-35.md). Select the assigned procedure; these alternatives have different distance references and minima.

## Radio failure in instrument conditions

Set **7600**. Follow the vertical-navigation requirements without descending below minimum sector altitude. Follow the latest STAR clearance to the nominated runway, then use the most suitable approach.

## Sector altitudes and chart conventions

The **10 NM MSA is 5,100 ft**. The 25 NM diagram is referenced to the **YSCB aerodrome reference point**: the northern/eastern sector bounded by chart bearings **B-125° and B-250°** is **4,600 ft**, the southern sector between **B-250° and B-075°** is **7,500 ft**, and the western sector between **B-075° and B-125°** is **5,900 ft**. These are the bearing labels on the ARP diagram, not CB VOR radial labels.

Tracks are magnetic, elevations are feet AMSL, and distances in parentheses are NM. The diagram shows **12° E** magnetic variation and is **not to scale**.

Published change: LANYO altitude requirement.

Chart **SCBSR05-185**, revised **27 November 2025**, from the fixed publication cycle effective **3 September 2026**.
